Invirt Reality is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to develop a Virtual Reality (VR) simulator for the National College for Nuclear (NCfN), southern hub which is being built in Cannington, Somerset.
The NCfC is a key part of the government’s strategy to address a future national skills shortage in the nuclear industry, and is a partnership between Lakes College, Sellafield Ltd and the University of Cumbria, which will create the Northern hub and Bridgwater College, EDF Energy and University of Bristol, which will be the Southern hub.
NCfC will be a virtual college, specialising in training and development for the nuclear industry. The NCfC hubs will offer world-class training facilities for the advanced and higher technical skills levels, including the use of virtual reality. The universities of Bristol and Cumbria will provide a complementary connection to the higher education sector, ensuring a pipeline through to the top level of science and engineering education.
The NCfC contract is a significant award for Invirt Reality and further enhances our reputation for delivering cutting-edge interactive VR training systems for highly regulated sectors.
